P-38 Pusher MJ - Another type of pusher airplane

P-38 Lightning
It's another great experimental using depron as the build material for my DIY RC Airplanes and this time, I'm trying to make the twin boom with twin engine configuration war bird into a single pusher motor. The model of choice is Lockheed P-38 Lightning or also known as P-38 in short.

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is a World War II-era American piston-engined fighter aircraft. Developed for the United States Army Air Corps, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a central nacelle containing the cockpit and armament. Source from Wikipedia.

I think it's going to be a challenge to have this kind of setup since the original scale airplane have two motor forward while my design will be a single motor at the back of the fuselage cockpit.

The Challenge
Considering the main challenge of designing this airplane, tracing from the original blueprint of it and convert it into a 'pusher' type aircraft will be a bit tricky. This is due to shifting the COG of the original plan. Logically, you will have a tail heavy plane when the motor is being place at the back of the fuselage instead in the front.

I have thought of that and that's why there will be a slightly different from the original plan onto what I have in mind. I have made the nose area inside the fuselage area suit enough to have the battery move back and forth to compensate the COG with different batteries of choice.

Power Plant Setup
For this build, I choose the motor that available from the scratch plane I have laying around. And since it is a single pusher, I have the suitable candidate for it.
Motor: Turnigy 1450kv
Prop: 9x6 (recommended 8x6)
Lipo: 1800mah 3C
ESC: 30A
Servo: Micro 9g servo x 3. (Aieleron x 2, Elevator x 1)

Maiden Video
The maiden pretty much a breeze with light wind blowing, the aircraft flew straight up with less twitchy or banking left and right.

Extra

A fellow RC builder and flyer, jpot have come up with a nice design end and flew his builds with  such a beauty.
